Okaloosa County Transit
OCT is Okaloosa County's public transportation. OCT is a door-to-door public transit service for EVERYONE in Okaloosa County.

 

 

Okaloosa County League of Cities
The OCLOC is the largest and most effective local government executive board within the Northwest Florida League of Cities organization. The OCLOC executive board consists of ten representatives from nine member cities and Okaloosa County. They work closely with the Panhandle League of Cities and the Florida League of Cities in representing local municipal interests.

American Legion
The American Legion and our post are dedicated to those that have honorably served their country in the armed forces. We gladly welcome new members to come join in our alliance of kindred spirits.

 

 

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Florida
A non-profit organization that for over eight years has been providing long-term, one-to-one mentoring to children and youth from single parent homes, ages 6-17, who are in need of an adult role model.

 

 

Boy Scouts of America-Choctawhatchee District
The Boy Scout program provides activities for our youth. Local Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops provide character building lessons disguised by FUN!

 

 

Covenant Hospice, Inc.
Covenant Hospice provides a very special kind of caring for persons with life-limiting illnesses, their families and loved ones by "Putting life into days when days can no longer be added to life". Serving the Florida panhandle since 1984, Covenant Hospice is widely recognized as one of the largest and most comprehensive hospices in the nation.

 

 

Habitat for Humanity
Okaloosa Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Okaloosa County.

 

 

Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)
An animal shelter that provides pet adoption, animal control and veterinary services.

 

 

Okaloosa-Walton Child Care Services
A non-profit, United Way organization that assists children, parents, child care providers and employers in finding quality child care solutions.

 

 

United Way of Okaloosa County
All support to United Way contributes greatly to quality life, human health and welfare in Okaloosa-Walton Counties through 33 local non-profit agencies.

 

 

Arts

 

Fort Walton Beach Performing Arts Committee
A City of Fort Walton Beach committee which was established to enlighten, educate and inform residents of performing arts activities in Okaloosa County.

 

 
Programs and Commissions
 

Do the Right Thing Program
The Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners adopted a "Do the Right Thing" program in August, 1998. The program recognizes individual K-12 students who truly strive to "do the right thing." Local public school, private school, or home-school Grade K-12 students qualify for the program.

 

 

Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women
The Women's Hall of Fame was established in 1995, by the Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women, to recognize and honor the contributions of the county's women. It is celebrated annually in August. Photographs of the members are displayed at the Okaloosa County Commission office on Lewis Turner Blvd and at the Niceville Community Center. Elder Services
 

Elder Services of Okaloosa County
A private, not-for-profit agency. Services and employment are offered without consideration of sex, race, creed, religion, or age; except for programs which restrict services to persons 60 years of age or older.

 

 
Shelters and Advocacy
 

Shelter House, Inc.
A United Way agency that is a certified domestic violence center serving Okaloosa and Walton counties.

 

 

Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center
A non-profit organization that uses an interdisciplinary approach to improve early detection, intervention, joint investigation, and successful prosecution of child abuse cases, and to coordinate resources and facilitate treatment of child victims and their families.

 

 

Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. (TIP, Inc.)
A non-profit organization whose specially trained citizen volunteers provide emotional and practical support to victims of traumatic events and their families during the first few hours following a tragedy.
