Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service, where the library can borrow
books and obtain photocopies of materials not owned by a Okaloosa
County Public Library Cooperative member library from other libraries
across the state of Florida and the country. The service is available
to current cardholders.
Policies:
Patrons must have a valid library card from one of the six member
libraries. Books and magazine/journal articles not owned by the
Okaloosa County Public Library Cooperative may often be borrowed
from other libraries within the state of Florida and nationwide.
Before initiating an interlibrary loan
request, please check the Card Catalog
for books; for articles, please check our magazine electronic
databases for full-text articles. Patrons may also visit their
library to request Interlibrary Loans in person or they may phone
Member Libraries their request.
- Patrons may be limited to active requests at one time.
- ILL is available for only those items not owned by the member
libraries of Okaloosa County Public Library Cooperative.
- Materials published within the last six months cannot be requested.
- Audio/CD and video requests are often not provided by lending
libraries due to the damage incurred during shipping.
- Photocopy requests will require a copyright form to be completed.
- You will be notified when materials are ready for pickup or
if we are unable to fill a request. ILL’s are on loan to
the patron for a limited time, please be prompt in picking up
your requests. Absence may also result in material being returned.
- A library card will be needed to pick up material.
- Due dates and renewals are determined by the lending library.
You should submit your request for renewals at least one week
before your due date.
- ILL materials must be returned on time; repeated overdues may
result in loss of library card privileges.
- Patrons are responsible for paying for lost or damaged ILL’s.
- Please check individual libraries’ overdue fee policy
for ILL’s.
